               Coming from a musical background I was always destined to follow my family into the music business, My grandfather was an accomplished pianist in the days of the old musical halls and My father was well known in and around the Leeds and Yorkshire area playing keyboards for the ever popular “Lea Roy trio” in the 60’s and 70’s.

 

I started working semi professional in the late 70’s performing with My good  friend Tony in the mad cap duo “Fancy That” two great musicians we played live music with the resident musicians or self contained (no backing tracks In those days) two live guitars and a drum machine. We were just two lads having a great time playing music and taking the mickey out of each other that we were often billed as a comedy duo.

 

After leaving” fancy that “I formed the very successful “Memory Lane “show band and enjoyed continued success on the club circuit.

 

In the 1980’s I moved to Blackpool to run the family hotel and decided to go solo Robert-e-Lee was born a tribute to the ever popular Neil diamond, and what was only supposed to be a years contract resulted in staying in Blackpool for over 16 Years enjoying more success and bringing up my family.

 

I have five children of which three of them followed their dad into the music business. My eldest son Richard has been part of the successful take that tribute in Benidorm for the last eight years, My Daughter Sophie performing under the name Stephanie Young and became Blackpool’s number one female vocal Entertainer, and my youngest son Robert is the front man for the hugely successful Queen Tribute Band “Majesty”. Which started me on the road to producing specialist shows, and bringing to the clubland stage, great entertainment usually found only in theatres and cabaret lounges.

 

I started promoting my own children and then ventured in to the world market. Booking acts from around the world. Always on the look out for a show that will put bums back on seats in my beloved and suffering Clubland which gave me a living for so many years.

 

This gives me the same pride as performing does, putting on shows that are fantastic and extremely professional and a pleasure to be involved with, I am always on the look out for new venues all around the country.
